The Alternative is Not Pretty.

A properly functioning alternator is essential for the continued performance of your vehicle.  What does the alternator do?  Well, it recharges your battery, using engine power, and it also delivers power to your car’s electrical components.  Essentially, it keeps the battery from losing charge, and of course if your battery dies, your car is no more than an expensive paperweight.

In the past, your alternator didn’t have to do much more than just power your headlights, and a few accessories like your radio. Think about all the accessories your car comes with today…entertainment systems use up a lot of power, and then you may have on-board navigation, power windows, power mirrors, and perhaps even heated seats.

Alternators, batteries, mufflers, heaters, engines…oh my!  So much can go wrong with your vehicle this winter.  To prevent being stranded on the side of the road visit Able Auto Service.  The A-Team will troubleshoot any and all potential problems.  Call ahead for an appointment at their 837 Osage Ave. shop in Kansas City KS at (913) 321-1030.

Frost on the Windshield.

America wistfully celebrates frost on the pumpkin in the fall, but this time of year frost is the real deal and can affect your vehicle’s windshield.  For most of us that reside in Kansas City it’s almost second nature to make the necessary changes for winter driving and maintain our cars accordingly.  That just makes sense.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of motorists who are just too lazy to spend two minutes to remove the hazardous frost from the windshield before getting on the road.  As a result, they put everyone in jeopardy of being in an accident.  Frost in one’s field of vision is extremely dangerous because a driver cannot see other vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles and animals clearly.

If you have been one of the unlucky ones to have your windshield crack this time of year, we are here for you.  We are Kansas City’s full service vehicle repair center…Able Auto Service.  The A-Team is always ready to serve your winter driving needs.  Just drive into 837 Osage Ave. in Kansas City KS or call ahead at (913) 321-1030.

What’s That…I Can’t Hear You.

That shouldn’t happen when you start your car this winter unless your radio is blasting!  What if your fan motor starts roaring when you turn on your heating system?  The problem may well be a faulty fan motor that needs to be checked out by professional mechanics before the really rough winter weather hits the Kansas City area.

Here are some signs that your heating system may need servicing –

1.  Your windows are fogging up
2.  You're cold for your entire commute
3.  You don’t feel air rushing through the vents
4.  You smell something sweet

These warning signs along with the above-mentioned noisy fan motor need to be addressed asap.  That is what the A-Team is for!  The A-Team is the group of expert mechanics you have come to trust for all of your car maintenance issues at Able Auto Service located at 837 Osage Ave. in Kansas City KS.  Just call for an appointment at (913) 321-1030.

Kansas City…Two Great Cities.

Yes, we live in an amazing city.  No one state can hold us!  We are Kansas City Kansas and Kansas City Missouri.  KC was founded in the 1830s as a river town on the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers.  This modern city is now the 23rd largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Kansas City has long been known for its love of jazz, Bar-B-Q, and craft breweries among other cultures.  After the 1804 Louisiana Purchase, Lewis and Clark visited the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers, noting it was a good place to build a fort.  After the Civil War, Kansas City grew rapidly, largely losing its Southern identity.

Here at Able Auto Service we are honored to be a part of the community.  We are located on the Kansas side, but we obviously serve the entire metro with the best auto repair service possible.  The A-Team is proud of its reputation and treats each vehicle as if it were its own.  Merry Christmas from Able Auto Service located at 837 Osage Ave.
