Your Car’s Heating System.

When you make a quick trip to the grocery store or to pick up the kids at school have you noticed that your car is taking longer to heat up?  The method used to warm a car's cabin isn't a whole lot different from the one used to keep its engine cool.  In fact, it's all hooked together and runs on the same circuit.  A much smaller radiator called the heater core uses the same hot coolant to keep the cabin warm, but this time of year you want it to warm up instantly.

When your vehicle’s thermostat begins to wear out it either remains stuck open or it can close entirely.  If the thermostat is worn out it might be preventing the coolant from getting warm enough to heat the cabin.  There may also be sediment accumulating on the heater core.  A flush may be required to eliminate that gunk.

No one wants to drive around the Kansas City area shivering this winter.  At the first sign of diminished performance from your vehicle’s heating system drive in to Able Auto Service located at 837 Osage Ave. in Kansas City KS.  If need be give them a call for an appointment on their toll free number at (877) 716-0776.
