Yes, it is that time of year in the Kansas City area when
fall quickly turns to winter and we need reliable heating in our vehicles. Here are the basics. The heater core is a center of activity in
your car. The blower motor blows air
through the heater core and to the passenger compartment inside of your
automobile.
What happens is that hot coolant from the vehicle's engine
is passed through a winding tube of the core, which is a heat exchanger between
coolant and cabin air. Fins attached to
the core tubes serve to increase the surface for heat transfer to air that is
forced past them by a fan, thereby heating the passenger compartment.
It may seem complicated and certainly something that area
garage mechanics may NOT want to tackle.
That is why you begin every winter with a visit to Able Auto
Service. The A-Team will check your
vehicle’s heating system and make sure that it is ready for the rugged winter
ahead. Just drive into 837 Osage Ave in
Kansas City KS or call ahead at (913) 321-1030.
